Follow these steps to apply to the City Colleges of Chicago School of Engineering.

  1. Apply (and be accepted) as a degree-seeking student to City Colleges.
  2. Take a proctored ALEKS math placement test (at any City Colleges testing location).
  3. Download and complete the PDF application for the School of Engineering, which will be submitted via email to engineering@ccc.edu.

Before being accepted, you will be invited to a mandatory orientation for the School of Engineering. Once accepted into the School of Engineering, you will also need to attend a Pathways orientation to get registered for classes.

Important Application Deadlines

The School of Engineering has rolling admission for the fall term. 

The application deadline for the Bridge Program is May 1, or when all available spots are filled (on a first come, first served basis). 

The application for the University of Illinois Grainger College of Engineering guaranteed-admission pathway opens January 5 and has a deadline of April 5. This application is submitted directly to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. 

There is rolling admission for the guaranteed-admission pathways to Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT), Valparaiso University, and University of Illinois Chicago (UIC). Those applications will be submitted after acceptance to the City Colleges of Chicago School of Engineering.
