Wright College has established guaranteed transfer partnerships for students with the Armour College of Engineering and College of Computing at Illinois Tech (IIT) and the Grainger College of Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Qualifying students are guaranteed to transfer to Illinois Tech or UIUC as juniors with all the credit they’ve earned at Wright College, which can result in significant savings for tuition and fees. Our partnership with these colleges ensures you will have a clear and guided pathway to a high-quality, equitable education in engineering or computer science.

UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS URBANA-CHAMPAIGN – THE GRAINGER COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING
This transfer pathway guarantees admission to your major at the Grainger College of Engineering. Majors at UIUC include: Aerospace Engineering, Agricultural & Biological Engineering, Bioengineering, Civil & Environmental Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Chemical Engineering (with different requirements), Electrical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Engineering Physics, General Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, and Nuclear, Plasma and Radiological Engineering.
The deadline to apply is April 5, 2025.
UIUC Transfer Pathway Benefits

UIUC Transfer Pathway Requirements*
- Mostly As and Bs in high school (GPA 3.5 or higher)
- Strong essay describing your interest in the engineering pathway
- Calculus I-ready by time of enrollment in Wright College engineering pathway
- Proctored ALEKS score of 76 or higher
- Extracurricular activity and/or work experience
- First-time college student
- SAT/ACT scores recommended
- No U.S. residency required

Illinois Tech
This partnership creates a seamless transition for students looking to earn a bachelor’s degree at IIT, with an option of working toward co-terminal degrees (bachelor’s and master’s) within three years after transferring to IIT.

- $30,000 annual scholarship to IIT
- Option to enroll in IIT courses at IIT while completing an AES degree at Wright College for $100/credit hour

IIT Dual Admission Requirements
- Complete an associate degree (AES or AGS) within three years of the date of initial enrollment at Wright College, in addition to the courses outlined in the suggested sequence for the intended major at the College of Engineering at IIT.
- A minimum 3.0 graduation GPA in all courses taken at Wright College and at least a 3.0 GPA each semester of enrollment.
- Students’ standing in the program will be evaluated at the end of each semester. Students who do not maintain a 3.0 GPA may no longer be eligible for program benefits.
- High school senior or a current City Colleges student with 30 technical hours remaining before transfer.
