Follow these steps to apply to the City Colleges of Chicago School of Engineering.

  1. Apply as a degree-seeking student to City Colleges.
  2. Take a proctored ALEKS math placement test (at any City Colleges testing location).
  3. Download a PDF application for either the School of Engineering or Bridge Program, and submit the completed application via the student portal at my.ccc.edu. Once logged in at my.ccc.edu, you will need to click on “Academic Records” then “Selective Application,” and then select your desired School of Engineering site.
  4. Attend a School of Engineering or Bridge Program orientation.

Before being accepted, you will be invited to a mandatory orientation for the School of Engineering or Bridge Program. Once accepted into the School of Engineering, you will also need to attend a Pathways orientation to get registered for classes.

Important Application Deadlines

There is rolling admission for the fall term into the School of Engineering. 

The application deadline for the Bridge Program is May 1, or when all available spots are filled (on a first come, first served basis). 

The application for the University of Illinois Grainger College of Engineering guaranteed-admission pathway opens January 5 and has a deadline of April 5. This application is submitted directly to the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. 

There is rolling admission for the guaranteed-admission pathways to Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT), Valparaiso University, and University of Illinois Chicago (UIC). Those applications will be submitted after acceptance to the City Colleges of Chicago School of Engineering.
